Introduction

This is a particularly important section for those who are interested in issues relating to the Qur’an and Islam generally and what is happening around the world.

There is a lot of controversy over the Qur’an and in particular, with respect to the translated copies available.  It is imperative for the reader to understand that whilst the original Arabic words of the Qur’an copy has not been edited nor altered, it is also important to understand that in light of the recent media coverage over Islam and terrorism; there are controversies and debates raised with respect to some of the verses in the Qur’an.  It has been misconstrued but it revokes violence and terrorism and this is not the case.  No faith or religion in the world would encourage anything of the sort.  Obviously, it is equally important to understand that there are certain websites that have been devoted and constructed by non-Muslims as well as those Muslim who are relatively less knowledgeable in the issues relating to the Qur’an and the topics and thus fail to fully appreciate that the Qur’an nor any faith would promote such a thing.  It is with regret that many people have incited a link between religion and terrorism or violence.

Recently, on Channel 4 there was a documentary shown on the Tsunami made by a British journalist and his question posed “where was God”.  Having watched this documentary, it only reinforced the thought that people obviously do not have the faculties to understand why certain natural disasters happen in and around the world and immediately look for rational explanations or rather are quick to blame that God is wrathful when this is not the case.  It also brings back the question of having faith and trust in God;  is it any wonder why so many people immediately lose faith and/or are changing their religions in order to experiment or find new answers to their problems or the problems occurring in the world.

It is for these reasons, we have devoted this section particularly to direct those who search for things happening around the world and the amount of focus given to Islam.

Whilst, there are many natural disasters happening in and around the world, one has to only stop and think whether it be the Torah or the Bible, or the Qur’an look at the ‘perished nations’ to note that there are lessons in this whilst others are searching for scientific religious answers.

We will endeavour to investigate these issues and bring about awareness for a better understanding of the Qur’an and the religion itself.
