RECITING THE QURAN FOR THE DEAD |

<p><span>Does it benefit the dead?</span><span><br /> <br /> <span>The answer lies in the ayats and Hadiths.<span> </span></span><br /> <br /> <span>It does not benefit them! Because it is not from their doing or earning. The Prophet (SAW) did not recommend it to his Ummah, nor did the Companions do it.<span> </span></span><br /> <br /> <span>So, one cannot benefit from other people\'s deeds after death!<span> </span></span><br /> <br /> <span>Janazah Prayer</span><br /> <span>----------------</span><br /> <br /> <span>When Muslims pray for their deceased brother, they are granted intercession for him. The more, the number of Muslims who join in the prayer, the more beneficial it is for the deceased.</span><br /> <br /> <span>ALLAH (SWT) sees it as these Muslims not having a problem with the dead person to prevent them from supplicating for him, ALLAH the most generous accepts that and agrees to forgive many of his hidden sins that they did not know. Anas, and A\'ishah (RA)<span> </span></span><br /> <br /> <span>Reported that the Prophet (SAW) said,<span> </span></span><br /> <br /> <span>Whenever a Muslim dies, and a group of Muslims numbering 100 pray Janazah for him, all interceding on his behalf, their intercession is granted by (ALLAH) and he is forgiven. (Muslim and others).<span> </span></span><br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <span>The issue if donating the reward of worship for the dead. The scholars disagreed regarding this issue.<span> </span></span><br /> <br /> <span>The Qur\'anic ayahs in the holy Qur\'an explain the law of ALLAH concerning His punishment and the changing of bad deeds into good ones.</span><br /> <br /> <span>There is also many authentic Hadiths showing the dead parents benefit from the charity, fasting and pilgrimage of their children performed on behalf of them.</span><br /> <br /> <span>The following ayahs:<span> </span></span><br /> <br /> <span>ALLAH (SWT) says: ALLAH burdens not a person beyond his scope. He gets reward for that (good) which he has earned, he is punished for that (evil) which he has earned (2:286).<span> </span></span><br /> <br /> <span>91:9-10.</span><br /> <br /> <span>25:70</span><br /> <br /> <span>No person shall be burdened (with sins) shall bear the burden (sins) of another.</span><br /> <br /> <span>He will be recompensed with a full and the best recompense (53:33-41).<span> </span></span><br /> <br /> <span>Person only reaps the benefit of his actions and deeds, which purify his soul and make him acquire the good intention sincerity towards ALLAH.<span> </span></span><br /> <br /> <span>The ruling on hiring a Reciter to recite the Qur\'an for a deceased person.</span><br /> <br /> <span>Fatwa:</span><br /> <br /> <span>Shaykh Muhammad bin Salih Al-Uthaimin, Member of the Committee of the Grand Scholars.</span><br /> <br /> <span>This is an innovation in religion. No reward for the dead or the deceased. Hiring is for worldly gains - no reward and an innovation; evil practice!<span> </span></span><br /> <br /> <span>When a person dies; their acts come to an end! 3 things reaches the dead:</span><br /> <br /> <span>1. Sadaqah Jariyah (on-going charity);</span><br /> <br /> <span>2. Knowledge (by which people) benefit;</span><br /> <br /> <span>3. Pious child who offers Du\'aa for them.<span> </span></span><br /> <br /> <span>The Prophet (PBUH) and his Companions did not do that.<span> </span></span><br /> <br /> <span>Acts of Sadaqah and Du\'aa benefit the living and the dead by IJMA! (Consensus of Scholars).<span> </span></span><br /> <br /> <span>Part No. 4 Page no. 349.<span> </span></span><br /> <br /> <span>Making Hajj or Ummrah benefit the dead.<span> </span></span><br /> <br /> <span>Burial</span><br /> <span>-------</span><br /> <br /> <span>When you place in side opening (lahd) of the grave:</span><br /> <br /> <span>Bismillah wa \'Ala millati rasulillah<span> </span></span><br /> <br /> <span>In the name of ALLAH\'s Messenger<span> </span></span><br /> <br /> <span>Then flatten the earth over. Read Al-Baqrah and its end, for I have seen that.<span> </span></span></span></p> |
