GOLD AND SILVER

<p> <p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>Ibn-Abbas who said:</span><span><br /> <br /> <span>When the first gold and silver coins were made on earth, Satan looked at them and, after observing them, took them and put them on his eyes and then on his chest. Then, he squealed happily and put them, again, on his chest and said (to them): you are the light of my eyes and fruit of my heart. When the sons of Adam love you it does not matter to me that they do not worship idols; it is enough for me that they love you (since you are the greatest idols).<span>&nbsp;</span></span><br /> <br /> <span>Bihar-ul-Anwar vol 3, p.137 tradition 3.<span>&nbsp;</span></span><br /> <br /> <span>Surah Tauba - Repentance 9:34-35</span><br /> <br /> <span>Tell those who hoard gold and silver instead of giving in God\'s cause that will have a grievous punishment:</span><br /> <br /> <span>Verse 35 - on the Day it is heated up in Hell\'s Fire and used to brand their foreheads, sides, and backs, they will be told, \'this is what you hoarded up for yourselves! Now feel the pain of what you hoarded!\'</span></span></p> </p>
